Real Sociedad has loaned Javi López to Feyenoord. The 24-year-old left-back has signed a deal that includes an option to buy. The Dutch club is seeking to strengthen its defense after the injuries of Jordan Bos and Gijs Smal. López, a native of Tenerife, joined Deportivo Alaves' academy at 18 and played 92 games in four years, scoring once. In summer 2024, Real Sociedad paid approximately 6.5 million euros for him. However, first-team chances stalled after 29 league games in the 2024-25 campaign. Last season, López was out on loan at Real Oviedo. Feyenoord has just signed its third Spanish player, after Nacho Ferri (from Westerlo) and Mika Marmol (from Las Palmas). López spoke to Feyenoord's media, expressing his pride to join the club and his desire to be of value to the team and its supporters. "I feel proud to play for a big and ambitious club like Feyenoord. I want to be of value to the club, my teammates, and the supporters as soon as possible."
