Deportivo now know the exact date of their trip to Real Sociedad after the international break: LaLiga has confirmed the round 8 fixture for Sunday, October 11 at 16:15 at the Reale Arena, with the game shown live on DAZN.

The date comes after the original fixture was postponed because of the break that started on Monday, October 21, and it now slots into a calendar with several matches for both sides beforehand.

A packed schedule before October

Before hosting Deportivo, Real Sociedad face their own run of fixtures, while the Galician club have three matches to play first: they host Sevilla on Wednesday, September 16 at 19:00, play Real Betis on the Sunday of round 7 and travel to Getafe in round 5. Deportivo also have an extra match played after bringing forward their fixture against Celta, which explains why they currently sit second on ten points, built on two wins and two draws.

Real Sociedad ninth and chasing Atletico

The txuri-urdin side, ninth in LaLiga on 7 points from 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses in 5 games, arrive at this stretch of the calendar needing points before the break. Real Sociedad closed their last away trip with a defeat, Elche 2-3 Real Sociedad, on September 7, with goals from Ochieng, Herrera and Sucic, and they now face Atletico Madrid, seventh in the table, at Anoeta. The two sides' most recent meeting, on April 18, finished 2-2 at the Metropolitano.

Tickets and the only absence

Season-ticket holders can buy their seats through the txuri-urdin website, and the club has said it will set aside an area for visiting supporters, with the exact location to be confirmed closer to the date. In the treatment room, Alvaro Odriozola remains sidelined and is the only confirmed absence, as reflected on the club's injuries list, ahead of the coming matches, which can be checked on the fixtures page. Real Sociedad sit ninth in the table, which can be reviewed on the standings page, five points behind leaders Barcelona, before facing Atletico Madrid at Anoeta on September 13.
