A painful precedent

The Real Sociedad B faces Castellón in the first match of LaLiga Hypermotion, with a painful precedent of a 4-2 loss in the previous season. It was in the 29th match of the previous season, on the first Saturday of Magdalena, with the team of Pablo Hernández fully engaged in the fight for direct promotion.

A frenetic match

That match started in the worst possible way for Castellón. Ochieng opened the score for Real Sociedad B in the 2nd minute, but the albinegra reaction was immediate. Álex Calatrava equalized just three minutes later, in the 5th, but the joy was short-lived. Gorka Carrera responded in the 6th minute to return the advantage to the Donostiarra team in an absolutely frenetic start.

An uncomfortable duel

The match did not give quarter. Castellón, faithful to its style, did not hide and equalized before halftime thanks to a goal from Camara in the 24th minute. With the 2-2, the duel entered a phase of alternatives, high pace and permanent sense of danger in both areas. It was a full-fledged exchange of blows, a very uncomfortable match for a white team that arrived with maximum ambition and knew that any slip could weigh in the fight for direct promotion.

A painful result

Real Sociedad B, however, struck again in the second half. Ochieng, once again the protagonist, signed the 3-2 in the 69th minute and ended up inclining a match that Mariezkurrena later sentenced with the definitive 4-2. Castellón left empty-handed in a missed opportunity.

A racist incident

The Japanese Kita denounced that Alberto Jiménez told him “puto chino”, which led to the activation of the protocol against racism. The facts occurred in the 94th minute, when Ena Wolf, referee of Real Sociedad B-Castellón, was alerted to the incident.

An exciting match in Castalia

That precedent adds to the spectacular match played in Castalia between both teams, that spectacular 5-4 in November. Castellón struck with five different goal scorers: Mabil opened the score, Jakobsen made it 2-1, Suero signed the 3-1, Cala put the 4-1 and Douglas Aurélio scored the 5-2 penalty. Real Sociedad B, far from giving up, pressed until the end with the goals of Gorka Carrera, Dani Díaz, Sydney Osazuwa and Peru Rodríguez, the latter already in the 94th minute, to turn Castalia into a real roller coaster.

Real Sociedad B in the present

Real Sociedad B is currently in seventh place in the LaLiga table, with 42 points and a +1 goal difference in the previous season. In the present, the team has 49 goals in favor and 48 against. The league title is 37 points away, and the next match will be against Elche at home on February 28, 2027.

Álvaro Odriozola, injured

The player Álvaro Odriozola is currently injured and will not be able to participate in the next match.
