Real Sociedad honoured its former players Asier Riesgo and David Zurutuza in Deba last Saturday, presenting them with the club's gold and diamond badge. Zurutuza settled in the coastal town shortly after being born in Rochefort, France. Diario Vasco reports that the tribute drew a senior club delegation led by president Jokin Aperribay, who received a warm ovation and brought the Copa del Rey won this year by the men's first team. The day began at the La Alameda kiosk with a group photo, before around 65 attendees made their way to the Itxasbegi society for lunch and to share memories with the guests. Participants also posed with the trophy from the final in Seville. Supporters' club president Koldo Agirrezabala offered heartfelt thanks to those present and highlighted the human values, honesty, camaraderie and commitment shown by Riesgo and Zurutuza throughout their Real Sociedad careers. Errealaren Lagunak also recognised members José Ignacio Urquiri and Rosa Ávila, presenting them with the same gold and diamond badge, and the day concluded amid applause.
