Real Sociedad will face Wolverhampton in a friendly match in Bescot on July 28, starting at 19:45, as announced by the club. It is the third confirmed friendly match as Rob Edwards prepares his squad for the Championship campaign. Wolverhampton has never faced Real Sociedad, although in recent summers they have played against Celta de Vigo, Girona, Rayo Vallecano, Levante, and Deportivo Alavés. The La Liga team finished tenth last season, five points from the European qualification spot. The match will come a week after Wolverhampton starts their pre-season against Maidenhead United on July 21. That match was agreed two years ago as part of Max Kilman's transfer to West Ham United for £40 million in 2024. Days before visiting Wolverhampton, Real Sociedad will face Aston Villa's Unai Emery in Bescot. Villa will play against Walsall in the same stadium on July 21 at 19:30. Wolverhampton will close their program in the Netherlands against SC Heerenveen in the Abe Lenstra stadium on August 1. The squad will also travel to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp, without any public matches scheduled. Another friendly match is still to be added to the 2026/27 list, and information on ticket sales will be announced later.
